Addition has fireplace brick stack dead in the valley

10/09/2005 12:28 PM hammernails1

My question is: can I sucessfully create a water tight valley with the fireplace stack in the center of the valley? Cannot move the valley up or down to eliminate its current position.

How would YOU recommend framing in the chimney in the valley so water will not leak.

The fireplace will be in the lower quarter of the downhill valley.

Thought of a crickett of sorts or some diverter, but not sure.

Other than verbal explanation, I do better understanding the idea from a drawing or page.

Thanks
Steve

Steve,

You may get more detailed information from one of the experts in the Expert Advice area. The Expert Advice area supports file transfers including drawings and photos that are not supported on this board.
