Ants in numbers in the yard

06/18/2003 10:17 AM gariee

Hi everyone.

I bought a house in Spet 02. 1974 house. 2.5 Acres. The back yard, about 1 acre is crawling with ants (look like run of the mill ants), but you cannot take a step without stepping on an ant hill or a big ant hill. Is there something I can do without killing my grass too? Well most of the back yard is dirt/sand with sparse grass.

Thank you!!

I have the same problem. Patches of yard with no grass with holes. Ant hills elsewhere.

I recently bought some Sevlin ant, termite, grub pesticide at Menards. It was $8 for 10lbs. It went pretty quickly in my 0.75 acres. Hopefully using the granuals in the grass and spraying the trees with pesticide designed for fruit trees will keep the ants or any other bugs from prospering and making it to the house or killing the trees.

good luck.

The Bayer brand stuff worked will on my sidewalks.
