I am planning to build a home within the next year or so, and am very interested in possibly using SIPs in the construction. If any of you have experience constructing and living in a SIPs home I would appreciate hearing your opinions. I have found several web-sites listing the benefits of panel homes, but I need to know what challenges and pitfalls I may face if I decide to do this. Also, if you could recommend a reputable vendor where I can obtain matererials, I would be very grateful. Any input would be extremely helpful.
Thanks!!! :) |

you will want to be sure youare buying SIPs with borate or otherewise treated against mold and insect invasion, and design a heat recovery ventilation system into the hosue.
Excellence is its own reward!

Have just poured the slab on a 2500sf single story ramch home to be built with SIPs. Will let you know how it goes. I am an owner builder and have seen how easy they are to do. Very efficient. |
