We are in the final stages of building a new house (set to close 5/23/06) however last night we went to the site and saw the concrete had been poured. It is totally unacceptable, it has 1" deep rat holes,gouges,1/2" cracks that run across the floor(which they have attempted to patch, unsuccessfuly), on the back porch there is 2 steps leading to a small landing than a 3" step onto the main patio(not sure if this is code, it looks like an accident waiting to happen), front porch has such a slope that the columns on the front of the house one had to be made taller than the other and makes the house look like its leaning. Contacted the realitor working with the builder and was told if the concrete work passes final inspection we're SOL. We are very happy with all other aspects of the house, but feel this concrete is not acceptable. What recourse do we have? If it passes final inspection are we just stuck? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |
