COST/RETURN ON ADDING 2ND BATH

07/03/2006 11:12 PM JAY123J123

I AM TRYING TO FIND THE SITE, THAT TELLS ME WHAT THE DOLLAR RETURN IS ON ADDING POTENTIAL ROOMS/REMODELING ROOMS.
I HAVE 2 BED I BATH HOME. I WILL BE SELLING THE HOME WITHIN 2 MONTHS. THINKING OF ADDING A HALF BATH IN MY BASEMENT, WHAT IS THE DOLLAR RETURN ON DOING THIS? 2 PEOPLE TOLD ME IT IS A EASY ONE TO DO, ETC. BUT CAN I GAT MY MONEY BACK, WHERE IT WOULD BE DONE SOLELY TO TRY TO GET MORE MONEY ON MY RETURN. THIS IS IN PORTLAND, OREGON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

I have seen the expanded report.

While the summary that you often see in the newspapeer will often tell you this project returns xx and that project returns yy.

However, the expanded report is broken down to city and also each type of project might have several different levels or details that vary.

But I doubt that any of then are for a 1/2 bath in a basement.

So the report is meaningless to you.

So things to think about. What shape is the basement in and what is it being used for?

What kind of people are buying houses in that neighborhood. Will they need the 1/2 bath?

I would check with a couple of local realestate agents that work that area.

IN some cases you will get nothing for it, but the home is just not saleable without it.
