Cutting Think Pipe - What Tool?

07/27/2002 12:51 PM madc

Hi Everyone,

I have an old kid's jungle-gym in my backyard that I want to take down. It's made of what looks like 2-3" pipes for the main bars and smaller pipes for the other bars. I want to chop it up and throw it away.

What tool should I use to do this? It's close enough so I can get power to it. I know I need a metal blade of some sort, but I'm not sure if my circular saw is the right tool or do I need to get a had saw (not looking forward to that).

Thanks for your thoughts!

Mike

Dear Mike,
Your best bet would be to purchase a sawzall. You can get one for just over 100.00 and use it for many things. The blade you need is called the torch. It is available at H.D. Buy a pack. Your new sawzall can be used for trimming trees with the right blades.
Good Luck, Len

Hi Len,

Thanks. I spoke to another friend today and he recommended the same tool. It's confirmed! I'm heading to HD tomorrow morning to buy one. Thanks for your help.
