I'm currently remodeling my a forclosed home, In a lot of places in the drywall it is cracked right down the seams. I've noticed that in some places that they didn't use tape. I'm concerned that if I mud over it, it will continue to crack and retaping wouldn't blend well. the other kicker is there are vaulted ceilings in parts where replacing the drywall would not be an option and i need to fix cracks up there . any info would be appreciated ...JD

You will need to apply tape and drywall mud to the seams to stop the cracking, and if they do not blend in smoothly then you could have the walls and ceilings textured. This will hide alot of the bad drywall areas and it does not have to be a real heavy texture either as you could go with a splatter knockdown or an orange peel texture. Then you can paint it the color you want.
