Drywall tape quick fix

10/25/2007 08:45 AM MikeWelborn

I have some corner tape that has come loose from the drywall. It is just in small spots and I am trying to avoid pulling the tape completely off the wall. It is just in the corners. Any suggestions for a quick fix?? This was my first try at tapping and finishing guess I should have haired a pro.

I'm also a moderator.....I hope you don't jump my answer like you did poor Bill's

"Small spots/Quick fix"

Try a small artist brush to apply some "carpenters glue" ......hold the tape knife in the corner to prevent further damage and lift the tape slightly and apply some glue.....use a dampened sponge to lay the tape tight to the wall......check for any lifting while it drys

Next Time......apply more coats of joint compound....always 3X .....be sure the first tape coat is TIGHT to the wall......(cut any paper bubbles when dry before recoating).....then don't over-sand......

"...measure once.....cut twice....throw that one away and cut a new one...."

Thanks for the reply

I think this will work on at least half my problems.

As for the rip, I may look like an idiot but how does he know what I look like? I was using common terms, and i guess was expecting a straigit forward answer.

thanks again !
