I just bought a new convection toaster oven. I really like it excpet for one thing. There is no light or ding or anything to let me know when the correct temp is reached? Do I preheat for 10 minutes to make sure? that is what I have been doing and it seems ridiculous to loose all that energy if I am only baking at 300? What do I do? thanks

I wouldn't think a cavity as small as a toaster oven would require much preheating... if any at all, but you could invest in a small oven thermometer to use in it until you can gauge the speed of preheat?
