Rechargeable Batteries for cordless products??

05/01/2002 10:39 AM arprince

I am looking at purchasing a DeWalt Heavy-Duty Worksite Radio/ Charger - DW911 which doesn't come with a chargeable battery. I do have a cordless drill by Craftsmen that has 12 V rechargeable battery. Can I use this battery in the DeWalt Radio?? Thanks for you time in advance.

First, does the radio run on 12 volts?
Second, would the battery fit in the radio, or would you jury-rig some wires from the battery to the radio?
If both are true, you could probably run the radio on that battery for awhile, but different batteries are made for different purposes and not usually efficient for other types of work. And that's an awfully expensive replacement battery.
