Re-doing epoxy pool paint

05/26/2008 06:07 PM zudsue

We painted our pool last week, two coats with epoxy paint. We now have to paint the steps and the bottom again. What steps do we need to take before applying another coat of paint?

Re-doing epoxy pool paint

Long story, very very slick, negected to use skid-tex on steps. Has caused several falls and it needs another coat, doesn't look "great". Such a big job want to do it right...do I just need to rough up the surface and put on another coat? What about curing?

With most epoxy type paints after the paint has cured more than a couple of days then you need to sand the paint so that the next coat will adhear.

So the paint you are useing does not address this on their data sheet.
