Seeking replacement burners, old Caloric FR3 cooktop

07/25/2008 05:09 PM MrPersistent

I have a Caloric cooktop that's at least 40 years old, perhaps older. The plate on the unit reads FR3. That is definitely at least part of the model number, tho it might be only the first 3 characters. Yet, no one seems to know anything about this cooktop. "FR3" does not show up anywhere on any web site.

I'm trying to replace the 4 burners. Each burner is debossed with the number 99215 (even tho they are 4 different burners--1 long, 1 short, LH side, RH side).

Anyone have any suggestions?

Other options

** at least 40 years old... I'm trying to replace the 4 burners. **

Your most likely option will be trying to get the original ones refinished and/or repaired if necessary. Try some of the companies listed in my site web's 'Appliance Links' section under "Restoration".

Refurbing my burner assemblies

That sounds like a good idea, except that one of them absolutely must be replaced, because I lost it years ago!

You could still check with the restoration companies listed. They *might* be able to help you out but I wouldn't get your hopes up... nor of finding one elsewhere I'm afraid unless maybe you can find someone selling a whole appliance which uses the same burners as yours that you can strip for parts.
