Hi,
Our family has finally found the house of our dreams but the septic system failed during inspection (water in the field). My husband and I requested that soil tests be run and that a licensed septic company repair the problem. The seller found out about a quick fix called the Terralift process and was wondering if anyone had any advice about this process. We really love the house, but we don't want to have to replace the system in another year or two...any advice?
Thanks! |

I don't know anything about septic systems so I won't comment directly on that.
But you need A PROFFESIONAL that REPRESENTS YOUR INTEREST.
So I would have this evaluated by a "sewer professional" (check with your health department to find out who in your area can design and evaluate sepctic systems, it might be an engineer or others) and YOU will pay them for their professional opion on the condition and repairs.
Depending on what you find out about the Terralift system and what YOUR professional says about it you will probably want a "guarantee". It should be made out to you and you might want the seller to post a bond for a certain number of years.
And get an attorney that does realestate to verify any guarantee and/or bond. You want an attorney that REPRESENTS YOU, not the realestate company, not the title company, not the mortgage compnay, BUT ONLY YOU!
