I'm building a Case House replica. And since almost all of the original homes had metal St Charles Kitchen Cabinets, I too would like to use them. My mother was one of 4 founders of the company. In their day, St Charles Kitchens was the 1st choice of the avante garde mid-century Modernist architects (particularly the California based Internationalists). Richard and Dion Neutra, the Eameses, Eschler, Mies, and even Wright (his Usonian Houses)all chose St Charles cabinetry. If you are lucky enough to have circa 1940 thru 1945 examples... treasure them. They might be of especial interest to buyers on the West Coast where restoration of Modernist masterpieces, thank God, is finally in full swing. |
