Suction Valve

Could someone tell me which position I should have my Suction Valve on my Arcoaire A/C. to read the pressure and to charge the unit?
Clockwise until it stops?
Counterclockwise until it stops?
I am confused. Thanks

Yes, you really have to find out the MAKE and MODEL to get good answers. There IS more than one machine made.
