paint over polyurethane closed cell foam insulation

What do i have to do to paint over some recently sprayed polyurethane insulation? Prep involved? and what kind of paint is ok to use?

What is the purpose of painting the foam?

In most places exposed foam needs to covered by a fire barrier such as drywall.

Covering for PU foam

In most cases all you need is an ignition barrier which is nothing more then a intumescent coating. One product is andek firegard and this adheres well to the foam.
