At the Simplex Industries plant in Scranton, PA, Bob joins Dave Boniello as they tour the facility. All of the work in progress is happening indoors and out of the elements that can slow traditional home construction. Work underway on the project house includes the framing for the boxes that will make up the main living areas, including sub-floor and wall framing, drywall application, and assembling the roof. There’s a lot of action on the factory floor, from spackling and sanding, insulation installation, the application of wall and roof sheathing, adding house wrap, and interior trim work. Also being installed are Leviton structured wire boxes that will form the backbone of the home’s voice and data system. At the Simplex stair shop, the staircase for the project house’s front hall is being carefully assembled.
