The walls are coming down as Bob and project supervisor Dave Southard begin the demolition phase on the Miami Beach condo. Bob introduces us to demolition contracting by reviewing the architect's plans and the on-site work of the demolition crew. Wall-to-wall carpeting is removed, drywall and cabinets are taken down, and demolition debris is readied for removal and disposal. Now that the boxed-in spaces of the old condo are gone, Bob, architect Michael Pierce, and designer DD Allen start planning for the newly defined spaces. A new wall will be constructed for the pocket doors that separate living and private space. Ideas for the new condo begin to take shape. Bob visits a recently remodeled condo in the same complex and designer DD Allen's own Miami getaway for a preview of how color, finishes, and design can make creative use of small space.
