The demolition phase is over in Bob Vila's Home Again Miami Beach Condo. It's time to start rebuilding walls to delineate space while retaining the open feel that the new design has created. Pocket doors are installed in the new wall separating the bedroom and living areas. They will allow open space during public hours and private space when needed. Glass inserts to these pocket doors will allow light to flow through the joined spaces even when closed. Rough plumbing is put in for the updated bedroom shower and bathroom. Then Bob heads out on the town with architectural historian Allan Shulman to visit nearby Lincoln Road. This pedestrian mall, designed by fanciful architect Morris Lapidus, was the first of its kind when it premiered in the 1950s. Newly rediscovered and renewed, Lincoln Road is a hot spot for shopping, dining, and Miami people watching.
