Bob Vila looks at creating a home from two very different angles in the second half of Season 15 of Bob Vila's Home Again. He’ll spend half his time in New York revitalizing an 1890s Brownstone and the other half creating new, affordable homes on Cape Cod, in Mashpee, Massachusetts.

Season 15 - Manhattan Remodel & Cape Cod Affordable New York, NY and Mashpee, MA
Buy Project Video
In the second half of Season 15, Bob Vila’s Home Again takes on two projects that focus on very different notions of home. Bob begins on New York’s Upper West Side with his son, Chris Vila, for a remodel of an 1890s Brownstone. Bob shows the detail and craftsmanship that characterized these urban town homes at the end of the nineteenth century. Carved up as apartments and stripped of original detailing in the 1940s, this Brownstone is looking for a sensitive revitalization that can bring its elegant past together with a contemporary lifestyle. The focus here is on craft and design as the entire floor is renovated to become a spacious apartment that looks out onto the streets of New York. Simultaneously Bob undertakes a project in Mashpee, Massachusetts on Cape Cod, where a forward-thinking developer has invoked a state land-use law to allow development of affordable homes in this nearly unaffordable community. The focus is on building community and quality housing for all income levels as Bob looks at what makes housing affordable. Bob visits the Druley development in Falmouth, Massachusetts to see how quality building and reasonable prices can go together, and outfits Energy Star certified homes for this new River Hill neighborhood.
