Master Bedroom Project

Architectural Details and Framing Video

Bob and Linda, our homeowner, take a look at the new addition. Linda points out the corner notches that add architectural interest to the otherwise boxy back. The notches are on the first floor but the second floor will have a normal corner on each side. The sixteen by twenty-four foot addition is not as big as the existing house but looks quite substantial from the back. A large opening punctuates one wall where two traditional mullion double hung windows will be. Inside, Paul and Bob take down the spring braces to clear the space. Bob and Linda discuss furniture placement and look at the plan. Linda explains the layout of the family room and adjoining breakfast room, which will be a foot higher and separated by waist-high bookshelves. The eating space will have access to both the garden and the salvaged deck.
