Oil finish
A finish for wood where the oil is rubbed into the surface to preserve the wood.

Oil free pump
An oil free pump is the type of compressor pump that uses no oil, making it less messy. It requires little maintenance and repairs are generally less expensive than those made to oil lube pumps. Oil free pumps usually run on one teflon coated cylinder and utilize a teflon piston ring. The motor is usually direct drive and runs cooler and weighs less than oil lube pumps.

Oil lube pump
An oil lube pump is usually less expensive than an oil free pump. Oil lube pumps usually run on two cylinders using automotive pistons and rings with cast iron cylinder sleeves. The pump motor is usually belt driven. Maintenance is more frequent than with oil free pumps. Belts must be checked and maintained and oil must be periodically checked and added to the engine to maintain proper oil levels.

Oil of cedarwood
Oil derived from cedar used in cedar restoration.

Oil powered
A water heater that uses oil as its fuel source.

Oil stains
There are two types of oil stains, penetrating and non- penetrating. Penetrating oil stains contain dyes and resins that penetrate to the surface; nonpenetrating oil stains contain larger amounts of pigments and are usually opaque or translucent.

Oil well cement
Cement that cures at high temperatures used when drilling or repairing oil wells.

Oil-canning
The term describing distortion of thin-gauge metal panels which are fastened in a manner restricting normal thermal movement.

Oilstone
A stone used to sharpen tools. The stone is lubricated with oil before use.
