Wall thickness
The thickness of the tubing wall.

Wall tie
Small metal strip or steel wire used to bind courses of masonry to wood frame in veneer construction.

Wall tile
A glazed tile with a body that is suitable for interior use and which is usually nonvitreous, and is not required nor expected to withstand excessive impact or be subjected to freezing and thawing conditions.

Wall washing
A lighting technique that produces a relatively smooth, even level of illumination on the wall and reduces the texture of the surface.

Wall-hung closet tank
Two-piece water closet with the tank portion attached to the wall by a bracket and connected to the bowl by a pipe elbow. Combination water closets, with the tank mounted on the bowl have replaced this type of water closet.

Wall-hung lavatory
Sink which is fastened to the wall, rather than being mounted on a vanity or pedestal.

Wallboard
Wood pulp, gypsum, or similar materials made into large rigid sheets that may be fastened to the frame of a building to provide a surface finish.

Wallboard hammer
The typical wallboard hammer is equipped with a patented, flat 12 oz. Steel head for nailing into corners. Like the shingling hatchet, the striking face is milled and crowned. The blade offers a 1-3/4 inch cut and a nail pulling slot. See bricklayer's hammer and shingling hatchet.
