There are a few products designed for loose lay and double sided tape for use at the edges.

But mot vinyl would buckle or curl up and not last long.

Armstrong Ashton series is one that is designed for loose lay.

Lowes has a couple of patterns of the Ashton in the bulk vinyl flooring racks.
